WELCOME!

If you are going through a period in which you are emotionally and physically challenged and want to live better, welcome. I can open a safe space for you. In our sessions, instead of naming the situations, we talk about your stories, how they affect you, the way you relate, and most of all, the relationship you have with yourself. Sometimes I accompany your needs with my questions, sometimes with my presence. When discussing subjects, we consider both the present feelings as well as similar past feelings to understand deeper and look for a source of welness in those feelings. I will support you in your recovery process.

If it’s not a challenge that brought you here but a sense of curiosity about yourself, you are welcome, too. When the session starts, the stories are yours. When you understand deeper and want a witness to your understanding, I will be that witness. I am willing to re-live and wewrite your stories with you with curiousity and without judgement.

Contrary to what is commonly known, the counselling sessions are not always painful in but they are actually in every color, every season. A therapy journey with a carefully selected counsellor is a unique experience.

ABOUT ME

I completed my Bachelors degree at Boğaziçi University, Department of Psychology. Then I settled in London and gain my master’s degree on “Clinical and Community Psychology” at the University of East London. This program, which I completed with an honors degree, not only taught me the basics of therapy skils but also gave me a perspective on dealing with the community, society and identities of people. In this direction, in my master’s thesis, I focused on preparing and applying a neurological test set translated into Turkish for Turkish speaking groups in England to be used in the NHS.

The basic psychotherapy trainings that my master’s education brought me can be listed as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Therapy and Systematic Therapy. After all these, I successfully completed my British Psychological Society-approved Solution Focused Therapy training as well as 3 modules of Transactional Analysis training. In the sessions, I am currently working with a holistic approach, where I them according to your needs. I take ethical principles and confidentiality as the basis in all my work. To support this, I am an active member of the British Psychological Society.

I always keep individual differences and uniqueness in mind on working with depression, anxiety, relationship problems, emotional difficulties and many more. In addition to these, due to my education on social factorsas well as my own personal experience; immigration, migration and adaptation problems can be listed among my main areas of expertise.

Our meetings take place on a weekly basis in 50-minute sessions. Before starting the sessions, we hold a free 15-minute pre-session, which consists of information about the therapy process and allows you to ask any questions you want. This preliminary meeting is an opportunity that shaped our decision to start the counselling sessions and also answers any question you might have.
